A lecture and a tale about travel—on foot, by boat, by train or by bus—and about the myriad different experiences a traveler may encounter on land or at sea when visiting Russia or the Middle East, the Caucasus or the Mediterranean. The stories Rumiz tells show how dwellers of global insecurity, in order to know each other and to come of age, need to travel as nomads. They show how healing may come from exploring what is outside of ourselves rather than inside our souls. In order to understand who they really are, says Rumiz, rather than trying to explore their own unfathomable subconscious, humans should perhaps devote themselves to travel as an effective alternative to psychoanalysis.
